Sitka’s Alaska’s annual running of the boots is a time honored tradition for many loyal Xtratuf Boot fans. Modeled after the idea of “Running of the Bulls” this is the “Running of the Boots” Xtratuf boots that is.
Generations of loyal fans put on their Xtratuf Boots and take part in this annual adventure. While the race is designed for run, they do offer prizes for the best costume and top finishes.
While no one at X-Tough has taken part in this race, we can honestly say it does look Extra Tough!
I have been an Xtratuf boot fan since 2002 when I worked on a charter fishing boat in Southeast Alaska, in a town called Gustavus. While working for Black Rock Charters I realized that simple boot wear would not be sufficient, what I really needed was a pair of insulated Xtratuf boots.
Once I purchased my first pair, I have never looked for any other type of waterproof footwear. The choice was made, I had to have Xtratufs.
The one problem I encountered was finding a pair of boots once I left Alaska. Searching my local marine store did not yield any, and long searches on the internet left me burnt out.
So I decided to create a website were people with similar passion could share their stories and order a pair of boots.
