Supporting details

These supporting pages explain how X-Tough handles recommendations, privacy, retailer destinations, and reader corrections. They are policy and support links, not product recommendations.

The Short Version

Some links on X-Tough are affiliate links. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, X-Tough may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

X-Tough may also use approved affiliate links, tracking links, or retailer links through programs such as CJ Affiliate, Impact, AvantLink, Amazon Associates, or individual retailer platforms when those relationships are active, approved, and allowed by the applicable program terms.

That disclosure applies to buying guides, retailer buttons, product-comparison pages, and destination links. It does not mean every outbound link is paid, and it does not mean a retailer, network, or boot brand controls what X-Tough says.

What an affiliate link does

An affiliate link sends you from X-Tough to another destination, such as Amazon, a brand store, a marketplace listing, or a retailer page. The destination may use cookies, click IDs, pixels, or similar tracking to recognize that the visit came through X-Tough. If a qualifying order happens within the program rules, X-Tough may receive a commission.

Retailer buttons and text links should make the destination clear before you click. A button that opens Amazon, XTRATUF, a retailer, or another guide should be labeled in ordinary language so you know whether you are staying on X-Tough or leaving for a shopping page.

How commissions affect recommendations

Affiliate commissions do not decide our rankings. Recommendations are based on intended use, fit questions, product details, retailer information, availability signals, return-risk questions, and editorial judgment. The starting point is the reader problem: wet deck work, commercial fishing, recreational boating, Alaska rain, sizing risk, kids use, care, or a retailer comparison.

X-Tough does not claim hands-on testing unless a page clearly says that testing was performed and documented. Research-based guide pages rely on current manufacturer information, retailer listings, public product details, buyer-review patterns, and practical editorial comparison. Paid links are a way the site may earn revenue, not proof that a product is the right fit for every job.

If a lower-commission or unpaid destination is the more useful path for a reader, the page should still be able to send readers there. Useful buying guidance is more valuable than forcing a sale through the highest-paying route.

Network and destination clarity

The Amazon Associates disclosure on this page is included because X-Tough may use Amazon affiliate links. References to CJ Affiliate, Impact, AvantLink, or individual retailer programs describe possible affiliate paths only when a relationship is approved, active, and allowed by the applicable terms. X-Tough should not publish paid network or advertiser links until those terms allow the placement.

A paid link should still make the destination clear before you click. Network, marketplace, or retailer tracking must not turn X-Tough into a customer-service desk, official brand page, coupon site, or stale price table.

X-Tough is not owned by XTRATUF, Rocky Brands, Amazon, CJ Affiliate, Impact, AvantLink, or any retailer. Product names, brand names, and retailer names are used to identify buying options and destinations. They should not be read as sponsorship, endorsement, official support, warranty service, or customer-service authority.

What to verify after you click

Prices, stock, colors, sizes, seller details, shipping times, return windows, warranty paths, final-sale language, and safety information can change quickly. Unless a page says price or availability is supplied through an approved current feed or API, use destination pages for the current facts before you order.

Before buying, confirm the exact model name, size, color, product photos, seller identity, shipping cost, delivery timing, return eligibility, and warranty route on the destination site. This matters especially when marketplace listings mix similar XTRATUF models, older photos, closeout colors, or third-party sellers.

X-Tough does not sell boots directly, process orders, handle returns, provide warranties, adjust prices, cancel shipments, or speak for XTRATUF, Rocky Brands, Amazon, or any retailer. If you need order help, contact the retailer or marketplace where the order was placed.

Corrections and reader questions

Affiliate pages need maintenance because programs, retailer paths, availability, and disclosure rules can change. If you see an unclear destination label, a broken link, an outdated claim, or wording that sounds too much like official brand support, send the page URL and the detail that needs review.

X-Tough can review and update guide pages. We cannot mediate retailer disputes or answer private order questions, but reader corrections help keep the site clearer and more useful for the next person comparing wet-weather boots.
