Ankle coverage is enough
Start with fleece-lined ankle boots for easy on and off. Camp adds ripstop panels and a different tread; lace-ups offer another way to adjust the fit.
Warmth, coverage and the sole underfoot
Cold rain on the school run, wet ice near the dock and a long shift in tall boots call for different choices. Browse lined ankle boots and insulated Legacy styles, then choose the coverage and sole your day needs.
Start with the day ahead
Warmth and grip are separate choices. A soft lining does not identify an ice outsole, and a taller shaft does not tell you how much insulation is inside.

Glacier Trek Pro is XTRATUF’s wet-ice outsole. It is a model-specific feature, not a promise that all fleece boots grip ice. No boot makes ice slip-proof.
Choose a taller shaft when splashes and wet work call for more coverage. Compare foam insulation with the Elite’s neoprene bootie; choose a safety toe when its protection and certification match your needs or job requirements.
Little Kids and Big Kids use different size ranges. Browse the lined Trolling Pack and Big Bird styles together before choosing a pair.
Inside the boot
These boots use three different warmth constructions: soft faux-shearling lining, built-in polymeric foam and a 5 mm neoprene bootie. The foam and neoprene images illustrate the materials, not cutaways of these boots.
Faux shearling is a soft synthetic lining that sits next to your socks; it is not wool. It adds warmth but does not determine which outsole the boot uses.
The Insulated Legacy has polymeric foam built into the boot. Its tall shaft provides more coverage than an ankle boot, but the foam is separate from a soft fleece lining.
The Elite uses a 5 mm neoprene bootie for insulation. That differs from the standard Insulated Legacy’s polymeric foam; these construction descriptions are not temperature ratings.
These waterproof styles add a plush faux-shearling lining. They are useful starting points when you want added warmth without a knee-high shaft. Fleece is a lining, not a temperature rating.
A pull-on for cold rain and everyday outings when ankle coverage is enough. Faux shearling adds warmth; the Chevron sole is slip-resistant.
The women’s standard fleece model pairs faux shearling with a BioLite footbed and Chevron outsole. Choose it for a simple lined pull-on.
For campsite chores and cabin weekends, this boot adds ripstop quarter panels and outdoor-inspired tread. It includes fleece-lined and standard insole sets, separate from the boot’s faux-shearling lining.
The women’s Camp fleece boot has ripstop panels, outdoor-inspired tread and two insole sets. The pictured Bone White / Dark Olive style has faux shearling; check the lining when changing colors.
Choose this lined ankle boot for its heel color and printed pull tabs. Faux shearling adds warmth; the sole keeps the familiar Chevron pattern.
The black Tailgate style shown here has faux shearling and a Chevron outsole. Check the exact style: the Tailgate name also appears on boots with other constructions.
For a laced fit rather than a pull-on: waterproof suede, a TUFDRY membrane and faux shearling. Its Chevron outsole differs from the Ice boots’ Glacier Trek Pro.
These rubber Ice models pair faux shearling with Glacier Trek Pro, which XTRATUF designs for wet ice and other wet surfaces. Take care on ice even in ice-specific footwear; slip resistance is not slip prevention.
Consider this when wet ice is part of the route. XTRATUF specifies Glacier Trek Pro for wet ice and other wet surfaces; faux shearling supplies the lining warmth. Shown in Legion Blue / Rust Red.
The women’s rubber Ice boot combines faux shearling with Glacier Trek Pro. It offers ankle coverage, not a tall shaft for deep slush. Shown in Rose.
Tall pull-ons give more shaft coverage than ankle boots, but water can still enter over the opening. Insulation construction differs below. Product names use nominal heights; check the exact model’s measurements and fit rather than treating the name as a water-depth limit.
For cold, wet work where ankle coverage is too low. Built-in polymeric foam provides insulation within the boot. Its slip-resistant outsole is not the Ice model’s Glacier Trek Pro.
This insulated Legacy model adds a steel toe. Choose it when you need protective-toe footwear, then match the exact certification to your needs and job requirements. It uses polymeric foam insulation and provides tall waterproof coverage.
Choose this construction for its 5 mm neoprene bootie and breathable airmesh lining. The Elite uses RDR rubber and a Chevron outsole. Compare calf space and fit before choosing it over the foam-insulated Legacy.
A lace-up alternative to the tall pull-ons, with a duck-camo upper and Chevron sole. XTRATUF calls it insulated but does not specify the insulation material or amount on the current page; don’t assume it matches the foam or 5 mm bootie above.
Choose the correct Little Kids or Big Kids size group first. These lined ankle boots use Chevron soles; they do not have the Ice models’ Glacier Trek Pro outsole.
Faux shearling, an EVA insole and a Chevron sole in Little Kids sizes 7–13. For children who fit the smaller size group; check the size selector before ordering.
The larger kids’ fit, in sizes 1–7, with faux shearling and an EVA insole. It is a separate size group from Little Kids even though the boots look alike.
The pictured Big Bird Yellow style has faux shearling and a Chevron outsole. Other Sesame Street prints can have different linings, so choose by the exact style.
Before ordering
Try the boots with your intended socks. Your toes need room, your heel should stay comfortably in place as you walk, and a tall shaft needs enough calf room. More socks are not helpful if they make the fit tight. Follow the exact model’s sizing advice.
Warmth varies with activity, socks, fit and time outside. The construction descriptions here help you compare boots; they are not guarantees for a particular temperature. Check the selected size and the return terms before paying, especially for sale styles: final-sale items may be excluded from returns.
