Fleece / faux shearling
This close-up shows the fluffy lining inside a fleece ankle boot. It sits next to your socks. “Fleece” and “faux shearling” describe this same lining on the models below; they are not two different warmth levels.
A warmer lining. A few different boots.
XTRATUF’s fleece-lined boots use a soft faux-shearling lining for added warmth. You’ll find it in standard ankle boots, Camp and Ice versions, and adult and kids’ Trolling Pack styles. Start with the lining, then choose the sole and fit for the days you have in mind.
XTRATUF calls these boots “fleece-lined” and describes the soft, fluffy material inside as “faux shearling.” On these models, those are two names for the same lining. Built-in foam insulation is a different construction feature.

The Men’s 15-inch Insulated Legacy Boot pictured here has built-in polymeric foam insulation. The foam is within the boot’s construction; the surface lining in the photo does not show that layer. Check the exact model’s insulation specifications.
XPRESSCOOL is a lining made for evaporative cooling and temperature regulation. It serves a different purpose from the plush lining in these fleece boots. Our XPRESSCOOL guide explains how it works and which models use it.
Choose the lining and sole separately
The lining adds warmth. The main differences are the boot’s construction, sole and styling.
For cold, wet outings, the standard men’s and women’s fleece boots pair faux shearling with a molded BioLite footbed and a non-marking, slip-resistant Chevron outsole.
Camp adds ripstop quarter panels and outdoor-inspired tread. Men’s and women’s fleece versions come with two insole sets: one fleece-lined and one standard. Changing the insole does not remove the boot’s faux-shearling lining.
Men’s and women’s Ice boots pair faux shearling with Glacier Trek Pro, an outsole XTRATUF designs for wet ice and other wet surfaces. The outsole provides traction; the lining adds warmth. No boot makes ice slip-proof.
The women’s Trolling Pack adds heel color and printed pull tabs. Little Kids and Big Kids have separate models and size groups, both with EVA insoles. The men’s listing is currently out of stock.

Little Kids 7–13 and Big Kids 1–7 are separate size groups, not adult sizes. The Big Bird Yellow style below has faux shearling; other Sesame Street prints may differ. For Camp, check the selected style: some colors have a different lining.
The standard lined pull-on: faux shearling, BioLite footbed and Chevron sole. Listed in whole sizes 7–14.

For the smaller size group: faux shearling, an EVA comfort insole and front and rear pull tabs. Shown in Chocolate Chip.
The larger kids’ size group keeps the faux-shearling lining and EVA comfort insole. Shown in Chocolate Chip.
The Big Bird Yellow style shown here lists faux shearling, an EVA insole and a non-marking Chevron outsole.
This black Tailgate style lists faux shearling and a Chevron outsole. Other Tailgate boots, including Sport versions, need their own lining check.
A different shape: a lace-up with waterproof suede, a TUFDRY membrane and faux shearling. Consider it if you want laces rather than a pull-on ankle boot.
Shown in grey with patterned pull tabs and heel detail, this is the men’s Trolling Pack fleece-lined ankle boot.
It is currently out of stock at XTRATUF. The standard Men’s Fleece-Lined Ankle Deck Boot is another lined pull-on to compare; check whether it is available in your size.
Wear the socks you plan to use with the boots. Check that your toes have room and that your heel stays comfortably in place as you walk. Follow the size advice for the exact model; fleece-lined boots do not all fit alike.
For children, start with the correct Little Kids or Big Kids size group. Check the retailer’s return terms before ordering, so you know your options if the fit is wrong.
